This NCMLP fact sheet outlines why MLPs can benefit for patients and families, healthcare staff and communities, and the associated research that supports this conclusion.
This is a factsheet from the National Center for Medical-Legal Partnership, which outlines the evidence base for why medical-legal partnerships work. They write, “A better healthcare team is needed to identify, treat and prevent health-harming legal needs in patients, clinics and populations. Preliminary data demonstrates that medical-legal partnership (MLP) programs help healthcare team members better understand and screen for social determinants of health, and that having MLP services on-site improves the health of patients and communities.”
The factsheet lists studies and links to others, which show how MLPs improve health, housing, family outcomes, among others.
