In May 2015, the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office for Access to Justice (ATJ, National Institute of Justice (NIJ), and the National Science Foundation (NSF) convened to identify areas within civil legal aid that need further development. This White House Legal Aid Interagency Roundtable (WHLAIR) report describes the presentations and recommendations on the topics discussed at the workshop, such as Measuring Access to Justice in the Civil Context, and Civil Legal Aid’s role in areas including: Reentry Population, Human Trafficking, Consumer Protection, Elder Abuse, and Domestic Violence.
